High-precision mains frequency measurement for primary reserve and smart-grid applications

The FRQ310 is a device for measuring the power grid frequency in a number of different applications. It provides a resolution of +/1mHz which makes it particularly suitable for grid frequency measurements in the field of primary control reserve (FFR firm frequency response / dynamic containment). But it will suit perfectly as well in other smart grid and power applications such as substations, small and decentral generating units or virtual power plants.

With its compact dimensions, the frequency measurement card will fit even in smaller housings or control boxes. The device is connected to the grid with two terminals (phase and neutral). The integrated GPS module allows timestamping of the frequency data.

A LED scale at the front shows the deviation from the nominal frequency within a range of +/- 200mHz.

The FRQ310 comes in 2 versions:

Version 1 (extension card):
The frequency measurement is delivered as an extension or the @120 PLC automation system from OHP.

Version 2 (stand-alone, Modbus RTU):
The frequency measurement card comes as stand-alone device. It provides a serial port (Modbus RTU) to connect to any PLC or remote control system.
